The Coroners Court of Victoria is located at 222 Exhibition Street Melbourne.
The court also has an Initial Investigations Office 57-83 Kavanagh Street, Southbank.
The court is committed to serving the people of Victoria by discharging its duty in a sensitive, courteous and professional manner.
The cornerstone of this service is respect for:

- the family and friends of the deceased person
- a process aimed at assisting family and friends to understand what happened and why.
This website will help you become familiar with the role of the Coroners Court of Victoria and provide some information about the coroner's investigation process.
New IT System
The Coroners Court is currently updating its existing IT system with a new case management system.
Existing procedures for report deaths to the court will not be affected, however, the court anticipates some delays in receiving and entering reporting information during the initial stages of the IT implementation.
Delays may also extend to the court’s Registry as data from the old IT system is moved across to the new IT system.
The court request that you be patient with us during this significant period of change.
