Coroner seeks witness to 2013 police shooting

Victorian Coroner Audrey Jamieson is appealing for a witness to assist the coronial investigation into a fatal 2013 police shooting.

Vlado Micetic, 44, had been pulled over for driving with stolen number plates when he was shot by a member of Victoria Police in Union Street, Windsor at approximately 10:43pm on Sunday 25 August 2013.

Her Honour is seeking to contact the driver of a vehicle described as a green Hyundai sedan, who passed the incident at the time of the shooting.

The identity of this person is not known, however it is believed they stopped for a short time and may have had contact with one of the other attending police units.

To aid in the identification of the witness, Coroner Jamieson has released an image from the coronial brief. The image shows the witness’s car on the right, as it passes the scene.

A directions hearing will be held today to discuss the scope of the inquest into Mr Micetic’s death, which is scheduled for 21 October – 1 November 2019.
